D+ Improv Website
Drake University’s best, and only, improv troupe.
I pursued this project as the marketing director for Drake University’s best and only improv troupe, D+ Improv. To challenge myself, I designed and developed a static website from scratch.
During my own free time, I planned out the website’s layout, color scheme, and fonts by what values the organization displays. I gathered images from my collection that I had taken during live shows and added them to the website to focus on our members for a personal feel.
All pictures featured on the website were photographed and edited by me!
Another challenging aspect that I wanted to fulfill was ensuring the website was responsive and available for all screen sizes. I did lots of research and tests to make sure that it supported both laptops and mobile browsers!
The project successfully pictures the organization’s humorous yet professional appearance, and I enjoyed the experience that it brought me to achieve this on my own!
I challenged myself to add more interactive elements, including CSS animations that play after loading the page.
I considered how a viewer might navigate the page and ensured the places I wanted them to visit were immediately visible. Adding more complex interactive parts, such as the flipping cards displaying an image and bio for each member, was a fulfilling and worthwhile process.
